Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour -is the basis of our cake provides the structure for the dough.
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda - which gives it a light and fluffy texture.
  • ½ cup melted unsalted butter - to enrich
  • 1 cup kefir - the most important ingredient which adds moisture to the mixture
  • ½ cup melted unsalted butter - to get rich.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar – Sweetness that balances the tang of kefir.
  • 2 large eggs – Essential for binding the ingredients and adding lightness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – A touch of warmth and depth to complement the kefir.

Kefir Sheet Cake

Optional Add-ins:

  • Chocolate chips or nuts to your sweet taste - for more texture and flavor.
  • Lemon or orange zest to choose - to lighten the cake with a citrus touch.

Ingredient Notes:

  • If you do not have kefir you can replace it with yogurt and milk A(3/4 cup yogurt + 1/4 cup milk).
  • For a dairy-free option use a vegan alternative to kefir and replace butter with an oil such as coconut or margarine.

Instructions
 

Preheat and Prepare

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch skillet with a little butter for non-stick

Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda, with a little salt. Set aside.

Combine Wet Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, whisk kefir, melted butter, sugar and eggs with vanilla extract until smooth and homogeneous between them.

Bring It All Together

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently with a wooden spatula. Mix until the flour disappears. Be careful not to over-mix to keep the cake tender

Add Optional Mix-ins (If Desired)

  • If you use chocolate chips or nuts, add them now for a great flavor and texture.

Bake to Perfection

  • Pour the mixture into the tray and then distribute evenly inside.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes

Cool and Enjoy

  • 10 minutes and above is enough for the cake to cool us
  • And now it can be decorated after it cools.
